Just picked up this little gem on that auction site that shall remain nameless. And it got me to thinking: why don’t new speed parts have any…oh, I don’t know…PERSONALITY? When this Weiand timing cover was cast, it had character. It had style. It came with instructions on the correct pronunciation of the maker’s name, for chrissakes (and folks still get it wrong).

Now, I’ll admit that I’m building a Sixties-inspired hot rod and I’m looking for as many vintage parts as possible. But that’s mainly because they’re just cooler than anything I can find brand new!
